Random 52 inspired thought...

Something in this weeks 52 made me think of something:

The two JSA members that (frustratingly) no one's seen hide nor hair of in *ages* are Sanderson Hawkins and Rick Tyler.

The two JSA members that have precognitive abilities are...

Sanderson Hawkins and Rick Tyler.

Hmm, who else has precognitive abilities in the DCU...Wesley Dodds has been dead for a while. The Hourman Android dismantled and Dream Girl is dead too (though she's not born yet). Madame Xanadu was in the Day of Vengeance Special, but I didn't notice her in Shadowpact...

...so where are all the precogs?

Interesting bit about the precogs... but Sand and Hourman are both at the big hero reception in 52 #1, so I don't think their absence is that mysterious...

...unlike JSA member Hawkman! But don't get me started.

And Atom-Smasher -- last we saw he was tossed in the klink. Why wasn't he broken out during the worldwide prison breakout in Villains United #1.

And Xanadu was in Day of Vengeance.

But who says whatever's wrong with time came about in IC? Might be something going on in 52 now, or will...

Skeets and Booster's future knowledge seemed perfectly fine until the funeral. :-)

Whatever's screwing up time might have started during 52 rather than before...

Might not even have happened yet. I wouldn't be surprised though with the way Booster and Skeets exploit future knowledge and the implied problems with time, if the precognitive characters don't end up playing a role.

As for Hawkman, he's in solicits for later at least. :-)

And Atom Smasher probably stayed behind to serve out his sentence. In Manhunter, he's already out. Maybe he got time off for good behavior. :-)

Whatever happened to Waverider? Wouldn't he be able to shed some light on the situation? With my, spotty at best, knowledge of the DC universe, I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out he was killed by the Clock King or something.

Funny, isn't it, how all these guys who might have something to say about time and such...are all conveniently absent?

Of course they might show next issue and I'll feel silly. :-P

I'm sure you've probably thought of this, but could what's wrong with time be because of what Booster and Skeets are doing?

It was said in Battle for Blud that Ravager is a precog, but that felt out of place...

doc: Honestly that seems a bit too easy an explanation in my opinion. :-)

centurion: Did they? I always thought she had something similar to her father's thinking ten steps ahead thing. But I admit I'm not terribly strong with the character.

Huh, on looking her up, apparently she is. Interesting. Guess that scratches my theory...

Though it's interesting that they're choosing to remind us of that now. :-)

Yeah, but isn't Ravager's precog limited to seeing what someone is about to do, right then? Like knwoing that the person to her left will try a leg sweep, and the one to her right a flying tackle? It doesn't seem like a "in ten days the world will end in fire" kind of power.

My advice? Blame Donna Troy. It's her and that stupid orb's fault.

You're probably right it is a little too simple.

Still, I think it'd be nice to get a simple explanation for once.

I find blaming Donna Troy for anything usually makes me feel better. Her and the orb telling each other stuff they already know interminably has to be my least favourite thing about 52.

I almost like her in Wonder Woman, but that may just be an effect of my being mesmerised by Giganta's boobs.

calvin: That was my understanding, so maybe it doesn't apply.

doc: But this is *comics*. Occam's razor doesn't apply. :-)

marionette: I'm actually liking her in WW as well. Being the clueless little sister works for me.

That's right, I forgot about the reference to him in Manhunter.

Still, he'd have been helpful versus the villains in the big throw-down in VU Special/IC #7.
