The Question Game!

Okay, it's well into the morning and I'm going to have to resign myself to the fact that the post I had planned for today will be postponed a little (You really didn't need to know that much about my abject hatred for General Glory anyway. :-p).

Anyway, this means the need for a blatant place-holder post for today. So I decided to play the question game!

For today, ask me any question in the comments to this post and I will answer it for you! It's a rare opportunity! (aww, come on, just humor me! :-))

What's your favorite comic, where "comic" is defined as single issue, complete storyline (something that has been traded, for example), or short story? Just anything that's a complete story, is what I'm trying to say.

I think that mine is Flex Mentallo.

And this is probably cheating, but what is your favorite guilty pleasure as far as comics go? You know, the stuff you're not "supposed" to like, but like regardless because it clicks with you on some level?

I've got a lot of those and all of them are terrible! But awesome! But mostly terrible. :D

Hm. You've probably answered this at some point but I don't remember, so: Who's your favorite non-Earth Green Lantern?

I secretly love Rot Lop Fan. He has the best oath.

What do you think about DC working toward making the Kingdom Come "future" what the DC universe is/will become?

Ah c'mon, General Glory is an idiot! heh.

I am NOT bringing up the subject of Snapper Carr!

Do you wish that they would actually show the reunion of Arisia with Guy, Kilowog and Salakk in either GL or GLC?

Do you think that Ice is really back, and will they show her get together with Guy and Fire?

Should Ramapithecus be classified as a hominid? (Sorry, my Anthropology professor said that was a sure-fire ice-breaker in bars)

    Apples or bananas?

    Garfield or Snoopy?

And the burning one; peanut butter: Smooth or chunky?

On a more pertinent note, if you had one - just one - chance to write a single character from DC or Marvel who was not currently featured in a book, who would it be and why?

    I've got too many!

Calvin & Hobbes: great comic strip or the GREATEST comic strip? :)

Do you play a lot of video games, and if so, what's your fav genre? I'd say mine is definitely far and away Role-Playing Games. Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Lunar, and Disgaea equals good times. Oooh, and Valkyrie Profile too. That's got an awesome female lead.

What would your opinion be of a miniseries where Katma Tui is brought back in glorious style, co-starring John Stewert, Soranik Natu, and Guy Gardner? What would make an awesome plot for said mini?

What do you think about Galatea from JLU, and can she be seen as more sympathetic than Supergirl? On a side note, did McDuffie/Timm make a mistake in not just having Powergirl in all her kickass glory?

My problem with General Glory is not only that he debuted in a dull, storyline, but that by that point in the series Giffen and Dematteis' Marvel jokes were wearing Extremely thin. It stopped being funny around issue #36, the G'Nort story. It peaked. But they kept doing Marvel analogues! Just go do Avengers already, you two! Sheesh!

What do you think of Amazons Attack so far?

    [] WTF?
    [] Badbadbad.
    [] Downright insulting.

    :-D

I think my favorite single issue story is the JSA tie-in to Our Worlds at War, despite my lack of interest in the rest of the series.

Powerful team moments, lots of Sand, the inclusion of non-JSA Golden Age legacies and Stargirl's admiration of Power Girl. :-

My guilty pleasure is Identity Crisis. The story has its flaws but in general, I find it exciting and interesting when I read it. And Ralph and Sue make me sniffle, as does Ronnie Raymond's flying off to explode.

wonderfish: Mogo! I love him enough to write planet slash! :-)

ticknart: I think honestly that while KC is clearly influencing the modern DCU, there've been clear indications that they're not going in that specific direction. The aesthetic touches they're borrowing are ones I tend to like though. :-)

sally: I'd love for them to show that in some Secret Files.

I think she's back, I HOPE they show it.

it'll always be an australopithecine for me.

anon: depends on your offer. ;-)

    rich: Bananas.
    Heathcliff.
    Chunky.

Sand in a solo comic! But that's probably cheating. :-)

Snapper Carr (Sorry Sally! :-P), because I think his is a useful/interesting perspective in the DCU.

Also, Buck Wargo from Warrior. Millionaire/Cowboy/Scientist and surrogate for Beau Smith, I'd have FUN with that character.

    justin: GREATEST.

Yep, my favorite genre is RPGs, both American and Japanese. My ultimate favorite series, pun unintended, is probably Richard Garriott's Ultima series.

I liked Galatea. She was no Power Girl (who is?) but she was interesting. I don't know if she was more sympathetic, but she was definitely more interesting to me.

I'd use some sort of space adventure to bring Katma back. Perhaps a very alien species took her body to study and preserves it a.la. extreme cryogenics. John finds out during an undercover thingy and goes after her. Guy and Soranik (and maybe Iolande too) go after him to find out what the heck's going on. Soranik revives Katma, Guy yells sense into John, John kicks ass, everyone kicks ass. :-)

    dan: not a question! GaSP!

anon: None of the above. I'm with Ragnell on this way. And I tend to like Pfeifer's work, so I'm willing to see where he's going with it.

(Now Picoult's Wonder Woman...all of the above, it's NOT to my taste.)

Who would win in a slapfight: Misfit or Cyclone?

Normally I'd say Misfit, but I think Cyclone would go RIGHT for the hair.

If you had total power over continuity what moment would you completely undo in either DC or Marvel's main universe (bonus points if you have an answer for each uni.)?

Marvel: Hank Pym hitting his wife. That single instance has pretty much dominated how the character is seen since, which is annoying because he really is interesting and multi-faceted.

DC: I think actually, I'd change the pitiful death of Phantom Lady in Infinite Crisis. I'd still have her die, of course, but without that pathetic little "Why?" at the end. I always thought a superhero deserved better than that.

Did you see Meet the Robinsons? I know you're into time travel, and I thought it was a lot of fun.

Also, if Dick Grayson isn't the Sensational Character Find of 1940, who is?

Not yet, I hope to soon though!

and, much as I don't like him, Dick definitely was the Sensational Character Find of 1940.

    I just hate him. :-P

    I may've missed the cuttoff, but here's a question:

Hey, Justice cats, why don't you learn to lighten up a bit? It's a snap! *snap*

It's more of a question plus an exclamation, I guess.
