Random Ridiculous Realization

I was just watching History of the World Part 1, and suddenly had the thought:

I want to see a superhero based off of Bea Arthur. Deadpool's crush aside, Ms. Arthur is awesome, and while we have a few older male heroes, there are very few, still-active, older female heroes that I can think of. And she's cool, still fit, and very formidable.

Failing that, I want a Madeline Kahn in comics. Perhaps as an Amazon after they're not evil anymore.

I figure Hippolyta and Empress Nympho would get along swimmingly! Or kill each other! Either way, it'd be worth seeing.

Hey, stupider ideas have been made into superheroes. :-)

I like the idea of a Madeline Kahn-type character. I could see her playing, for instance, the version of Circe we saw on the JLU animated series. Not really "evil," and no longer particularly interested in conquest or domination ("been there, done that.") Kinda fun-loving and world-weary at the same time, "up to no good," but not really malicious. And always really snarky....

Did you try to bullsh*t today?
    No? Then FEEL MY WRATH!"

The only thing that can get me to stop laughing is the scary thought of Super-Maude.

I like Helen Mirren. What this has to do with Bea Arthur or Madeline Kahn, I have no idea.

"I want to see a superhero based off of Bea Arthur."

Well, they've already based a villain on her:

    Granny Goodness!

The one true Granny Goodness is Ed Asner.

That bit of casting was inspired.

    Bea Arthur = Agatha Harkness

How about the elder Liberty Belle? She's sort of the elder stateswoman of the Golden Age set, or at least would be if she were used more often.

Finally, a brilliant idea for a Maude revival!

How about Bea Arther as Guy Gardner's mother?

    Wicked scary.
