McKeever Leaving BoP?

Apparently Sean McKeever's leaving Birds of Prey. (Via) I have to admit, I wasn't too enamored with his Birds of Prey thus far, but I figured he needed time to get settled a bit.

Honestly though this is probably the best situation, since from what I read, I really do think McKeever's talents best lie with teenagers and young adult characters. Teen Titans seems like it's a much better fit for him.

I wonder if they can get Bedard back for Birds of Prey. He had some uneven moments, but I thought he had a lot of potential. Also, I'm constantly annoyed that right when it seems like he's really settled into a book (BoP, Supergirl), he gets rotated out again. I want to see what the man can do.

Oh well, I'm sure it'll be good, whoever they choose. :-)

When I heard the news I was actually upset he was leaving BoP to focus on Titans. His run on Teen Titans has been awful. Not that his run on the Birds has been any good either but I don't read that title.

I was actually a little worried given what he's been doing on Titans, that he'd turn BoP into another WB drama, b/c of the introduction of Black Alice to have all sorts of teen gurl dramaz with Misfit. :\ Why DON'T they let Bedard settle into a book? He got rotated out of Legion of Superheroes too (tho I like the current run so I'm not rly complaining it's just odd).

What about Brian K. Vaughn? Might as well go big.

Since Gail Simone is down to just Wonder Woman now, I'd LOVE to have her back on BoP.

Or Marc Andreyko. He'd be good too. Bring back Manhunter!

Bedard's issues were all right but I really wish they were replacing McKeever with Greg Rucka. Or if I wanted to shoot for the moon, BKV or Whedon. Ah, well. If wishes were horses, right?

KD, I would clone Rucka and put him on just about every book if I could. xD

See, I dislike Bedard (not hate, but he's just so good at turning good storylines into boring ones), so I'd rather just have him off any book I was going to read anyway.

I agree with Ami...his run on Teen Titans has been terrible. The characters are so irritating. I get one or two teens being obnoxious, but all of them?

Ami, I like your style. :D Forget Stem Cell Research - let's get on the ball with Rucka Cloning. One Greg Rucka on every flagship book we can find by 2009! Really, it's the only responsible thing to do for future generations.

Hee hee! It does my heart good both to see how many people's reaction to the McKeever news was the same as my own: "Wouldn't it be nice if they gave Bedard the job for real?" And then to see that DC did just that!
