Nyquil hangovers kind of suck.

Recommend me something to cheer me up? Can be anything, really. Just something you like with a reason why. Book, movie, tv, music, hallucinogenic drug, anything. :-)

Ever read anything by Faith Erin Hicks? Not always the cheeriest stuff in the world but Demonology 101 and Zombies Calling are both at times light hearted and all of Demonology is free. I've enjoyed her Ice but that's pretty bleak so not really for cheering up.

I can't remember. I know I've mentioned it, but have you gotten around to seeing Pushing Daisies yet? The first season, at least, seems to be on Hulu... That'll cheer you up, in spite of being about death. (It also has the cutest sort-of-forbidden love story ever. How they managed to do that with a woman who's back from the dead without making it too terribly creepy is beyond me. But they did.)

Just found a bunch of Goon Shows on Youtube: a very old, very surreal radio comedy, imagine a cartoon on the radio.

I especially recommend the episodes The Canal and The House Of Teeth.

Go find the children's section of the library and check out the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle books. I forget where, but the subject came up recently, and I remember how much I loved these when I was MUCH younger.

They're fun, and silly, and childish and a hoot. I hope you feel better!

I always recommend my favorite screwball comedy, Twentieth Century.

Sure, It Happened One Night and His Girl Friday are better known...but they don't have John Barrymore imitating a camel.

That, my friends, is high art.

Shrooms can be enlightening but are best taken with a sober friend to watch over you and in a safe, comfortable space (preferably full of pillows and snack food). :P

Failing your turning to the abuse of hallucinogenic drugs, I second the first season of Pushing Daisies. Dead Like Me is another great, witty and charming series by Bryan Fuller that is currently running for free on Hulu. Since it's a show all about Grim Reapers, it's naturally a touching, life-affirming joy to behold, at least IMHO.
