A Thought!

You know what would be awesome?

A miniseries with Stephen Strange, Donald Blake and Hank McCoy dealing with bizarre Marvel Universe medical mysteries. Every issue, part of the mystery will be figuring out if the ailment is magic, divine, or based on comic book genetic anomalies.

It'd be like House, only with maaagic.

I'd read it!

We've had comic book law, why not comic book medicine? It would be awesome, though without Dr. MacTaggert poisoning people with her coffee, there would definitely be something missing. Also, no terribly bad Scottish insults.

You should check out mightygodking's "Why I should write Dr. Strange" series of posts. He completely rocks the magical medical mystery ideas. But it would be really cool to tye in the other Marvel Dr.'s too. I mean Strange already has that smart House'ian vibe about him and you know Dr. Blake is totally Dr. Chase but then does that make McCoy = Taub? and who is going to be 13? It can't be Night Nurse she's got to be Cutty to Strange's House

Can we have a Bones variant while we're at it?

There are all kinds of things like that I'd like to see. How about a full-blown hospital/trauma/emergency response drama set in a superhero 'verse? Or a serious superhero courtroom series?

Shoot, I'd be happy just to see a return to Batman stories that hinged around something like actual detective work, instead of baroque Contingency Plans and growling a lot.

And the first one to call Donald Blake "House" gets beaten with a cane.

Hey, have you ever read James White's Sector General books? Medical Drama meets Space Opera, written by a physician.

Sector General was built after an interstellar war, to shift a tenuous, tinderbox peace accord between various alien races into active cooperation by sharing medical knowledge.

A regular plot device is making first contact with a new race by finding an injured specimen in a derelict ship, and having to figure out an entirely new biology before they can help it.

I think it would be even funner to include Dr. Samson every once in awhile to help figure out if something is psychological or a physical ailment. Heck I'd setle for a one shot of the MU's medical convention.

I'd also love a company crossover with Barry Allen and Dr. Thirteen.
