Recommendation Request - Video Game Related

So, I now have an X-Box 360. :-) I'm not altogether sure what to DO with it now. I definitely like a lot of the perks and the few games I bought with it (like Ultimate Alliance, because well. Cap. :-P), but this is my first game console since the Playstation 2, and I have no idea what's actually out there.

So anyone with an X-Box, can you recommend me games? I tend to like games that don't require a lot of hand-eye coordination or timing. :-P Role-Playing Games and puzzle games are my favorite.

So what do you like to play, and why?

    For RPGs?

Dragon Age 1&2 and Mass Effect 1&2

I need to play games without a lot of motion because of this dizziness/vertigo thing I've had going on for about a year now. It sucks. I wish I didn't have to close my eyes when my husband plays Portal/Portal 2, because they are my favorite. So funny, so clever. So I tend to play games that only last a minute (like the Facebook ones), so that I can cut myself off before everything starts tilting. :(

    What Andrew said.

Any game made by BioWare is just fantastic. I would start with the Mass Effect series though. They are generally better written, and your choices have more of an impact, especially the ones you carry over from ME1 to ME2.

    Batman Arkham Asylum
    Mass Effect 1 & 2
    Portal
    Bioshock
    Borderlands
    Fallout 3
    Mirror's Edge

    Honorable Mention: Red Dead Redepmption

    Batman : Arkham Asylum
-Best comic book video game I've ever played

-Voice cast = just about everybody from Batman The Animated Series

-Story is engaging, & gameplay fully embraces what makes Batman, Batman. (Detective work, picking locks, strategically taking bad guys out, intimidation, no guns etc, etc)

-Inverted takedown...I can't describe enough how awesome this is

    Mass Effect 1 & 2
-Space RPG which combines the feel of Blade Runner with Star Wars & Star Trek.

-Dialog choices & side missions not only affect your own progress in the game but can give you greater insight into some of the crew you pick up along the way. I dare you not to like Wrex

-First 20/30 min. of ME 1 is a bear, won't lie but, the moment you get past this point the game becomes pretty awesome, with equal parts of tension/action/humor, etc.

    Portal
-Imagine you have a gun that doesn't shoot bullets, rather it shoots portals, now imagine you have to use that gun to get out of one dangerous room after another, all the while your doing this, you have an AI watching you that makes Hal from 2001 look "mellow" and "boring"

-Puzzle game that I actually played through...pretty much an amazing feat in itself

-It's cheap & only 6hrs long tops, if your good at puzzles, probably shorter.

    Bioshock

-Creepy atmosphere; you are drawn into the world of Rapture, a city deep below the ocean built in the 50s by Andrew Ryan, dedicated to letting humanity explore it's full potential without restraint..and well..let's just say people start messing with their genetics and well...yea.

-A weird fusion of action & thriller, this game takes you on a wild and weird ride. .

-Graphics in this game are AMAZING. First 4 min. of gameplay you'll have to remind yourself you are in fact playing a game, and not watching a cutscene. Water effects all through this game are amazing, and the environment of Rapture provide greater depth to the story your progressing through.

    Borderlands
-Space Western RPG, you are a lone man or woman (your choice) on a planet in search of "The Vault" a mythical treasure trove of alien weapons, riches, etc, supposedly on the planet your stuck on.

Throughout the game you'll have to deal with weird characters both mutated and the like, some wanting to help you, some looking to kill you and well some that'd just as soon probably eat you

-Weird little game that is LONG but good. 3 or 4 different class types to choose from, give you a lot of replay value for this game

-Environments have a weird vibe to them but serve as a boon to the game ultimately.

-Voice acting is all over the place (thick southern accents, russian accents, proper English, etc., etc)

-Robots will pop-up sporadically in the game to help you (think R2D2, if he could bust a move and speak obscentities)

    Fallout 3
-RPG, set in the US. Imagine if the nukes had dropped in the 40s/50s. Born in one of the underground fallout vaults, decades later you make your way out into the nuclear decimated landscape dealing with Super Mutants, gigantic ants, ROUSs, killer robots that look highly like Robby the Robot, etc, etc.

-Awesome game that will easily suck you in with the story and environments.

-Voice acting is good with Liam Neeson and a cast of other well known actors coming up throughout the game.

-Game is ADDICTIVE, I am talking WoW-level addictive here.

-You can walk around a huge partially-destroyed Washington, DC, honestly what more could you want.

    Mirror's Edge

-Clean graphics and environment, set seemingly in the future. Again think Blade Runner universe only...clean...an well no robots

-FPS game focused more on simply running from the guys after you, (see: parkour)

-Your a courier outside the boundaries of the "law" delivering messages between people on the "DL" accidentally stumbling into a conspiracy

-Game is a game of skill and timing. You will dive onto rooftops slide down pipes, climb up elevator shafts, etc, etc. The game's sense of perspective is so great that, if you have a fear of heights you might wanna avoid this title.

-Game is interesting & different from a lot of stuff, if you can find it cheap I say try it

    Honorable Mention: Red Dead Redemption

Sorry..probably overdid it with the why's but this is one of those few topics I actually know something about for once :)

I've been addicted to adventure games ever since I first played Myst roughly a century ago.

The whole Myst saga, Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Thief, The 7th Guest, Amazonia, Return to Mysterious Island,Syberia (Loved it! LOVED it.), And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express...sigh.

For specifically XBox games, I agree: BioWare rocks. (Characterization and character development! In video games!) I still have fond memories of playing Knights of the Old Republic.

Assassin's Creed, The Godfather, and Silent Hill: Homecoming were really good, too.

Guilty secret? I had a hell of a good time playing Dante's Inferno, pun intended. How many games are there where your typical mass-murdering protagonist can annihilate legions of his enemies...by forgiving them?
